Nano Bible

NANO-BIBLE: It measures just 4.76mm on each side. Each silicon wafer chip contains all 27 books of the New Testament. Each letter has a width of about 0.18 microns (18 millionths of a meter), so an eight-inch (20.3cm) wafer can apparently contain more than 1,000 Bibles. Created utilizing a focused ion beam. The writing is so small that a microscope with a magnification of 10,000x is needed to read the text. God Bless You -- Today and Every Day!

The Oberammergau Passion Play: View-Master

The Oberammergau Passion Play has been a theatrical performance since 1634. In 1950, View-Master took their 3-D cameras and captured photography for their 3-D hand held viewers. This photo is from one of the three reels showing a scene from the resurrection. The play covers a short period of the earthly life of Jesus Christ: from his visit to Jerusalem to his crucifixion. It is performed every ten years, with the next performance scheduled for 2020. The production is live and involves over 2,000 performers, musicians, and technicians. Please excuse the somewhat blurry photo as my optics are packed away for a trip.

Rembrandt / Amand Durand: Return of the Prodigal Son

Luke 15:21-24 -- "And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found." Read the entire story in your Bible: Luke 15:11-32. Art work shown is titled: Return of the Prodigal Son, 1636. After Rembrandt van Rijn; 19th Century by Amand Durand for the Louvre in Paris, France; Lugt 2934 red stamp verso; 153 x 134 mm (6.12 x 5.36 inch). Wonders of the Bible collection. View-Master Great Commission 1949

"Go forth and teach all nations." Cover art from the 1949 View-Master series. Each scene is a miniature dioramic “stage” built entirely by hand -- then shot onto film with a 3-D stereoscopic camera. I am the owner of several View-Master company Christian production files: with the scripts, original art work, and studio Kodachrome photography. As such, they are one of a kind, and icons of mid- 20th century popular culture. God Bless You!

Jesus @ Jerico

On the way to Jerusalem, they passed through Jericho. Two blind men by the roadside heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing. "Jesus, Lord, have mercy on us! We want our eyes opened!" Jesus touched their eyes: immediately they could see. Photo captured from an early View-Master 3D reel titled: "Jesus Christ: His Youth, Disciples and Miracles". Wonders of the Bible collection. God Bless You -- Today and Every Day! Remember to Love Others just as Jesus Loves You!
