Erasmus (Erasmus von Rotterdam) published his new Latin translation of the New Testament in 1516. This is a page / leaf from his paraphrases, which he worked on between 1517 and 1524. It shows the title page from his writings on the book of Titus, and this particular edition / page is from 1520 (and is in Latin). In 1547, Edward VI ordered an English version, to be available in all parish churches. Queen Mary (Edward's half-sister), was a contributor.
