NCR Microform Bible

This original 1968 news photo -- from the Wonders of the Bible Collection -- shows CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite holding a microform transparency of the entire King James Bible. It contains 1,245 pages and more than 700,000 words. This new technology was called "micro optics", and was produced by NCR: National Cash Register. A stack of these microform Bibles flew to, and landed on the moon by Apollo astronauts. We have one of these, and many similar ones, in the Wonder of the Bible collection. Visit our FACEBOOK page.

Allende CV3 Carbonaceous Chondrite meteorite

Left over from the act of Creation? From the collection, here is a thin-slice microscopic slide of the Allende CV3 Carbonaceous Chondrite meteorite. It is one of the oldest known physical objects in the Universe ... and, supposedly, been in existence from a time before planet earth was formed in our solar system. It contains elements not found anywhere on earth.

I personally subscribe to the Biblical account of Creation, through the first book of Moses in our Holy Bible: Genesis. I don't know how that affects the current view of this Allende meteorite -- whether Genesis supports it as created before earth or not. But, when in doubt, I turn to the Bible first.

Chinese Christian Christmas Card 1940's

"The Nativity in a Cave", 1940's, by Lu Hung-Nien. This folded paper card presents the Holy Family with a charming little angel standing by with his lantern. In the cave, the flowers are in bloom; outside the cave one sees the little shepherds in the snow.

The interior of the card reads "Greetings on the Holy Birthday. Good wishes for the New Year", in both Chinese and English.

When the artist was a small boy, he loved the picture cards in the mission Sunday School. But one thing grieved him: no Chinese children were ever seen with Jesus. So his first Christian painting was "Jesus and the Little Children" and he put his own face on one of the children.

Jesus and the Children: 3D Lenticular Diorama

1940's: Jesus and the Children. Our second (in a series) 3D diorama scene by renown Christian artist Paul Cunningham; 3D lenticular recording by famous Victor Anderson. 30 x 40 CM (12 x 16 in.). The actual dioramas were part of the Prince of Peace Memorial in Silver Springs, Florida; and Prince of Peace Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Both attractions now long closed. These 3D lenticular recordings are part of the Wonders of the Bible collection.

" … For of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." This beautiful line of scripture taken from Matthew 19:14, reveals Christ's deep concern about children as He blesses them on the shores of Galilee. His meaningful message is hidden momentarily, for children will be children whether in that day or today.
This wandering family of shepherds were typical of the people amongst whom Christ conducted His ministry. Seldom was their lonely life brightened by a visitor, and never before by one with such a magnetic personality … one who would leave His message of love ringing in their ears for a long time to come.

God Bless!

1950s: Jesus Heals the Blind Man (3D Lenticular)

1950's: Jesus Heals the Blind Man. 3D "lentograph" of actual diorama by famous Christian artist Paul Cunningham. Lenticular by world-renown 3D artist Victor Anderson. Dioramas in this series were in The Prince of Peace Memorial in Silver Springs, Florida; and The Prince of Peace Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Lenticuar part of the Wonders of the Bible Collection. 12 x16-inches (30 x 40 cm) in size. Depicting the book of John chapter 9.

A ragged beggar sits beside the dusty road in total darkness -- for he's been blind since childhood. Pedestrians hasten past him, ignoring his outstretched arms. Will someone drop a scrap of bread in his lap -- or at least give the poor man a drink of water? Most won't. Most will hurry past him saying "he is none of my business ... I can't be bothered."

Then his keen ears tell him that one passerby has stopped. A hand is extended. He feels the gentle touch of Christ's fingertips ... as a strong, clear voice says "as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." Suddenly, the gloom is lifted, for Christ has given him the priceless gift of sight.

1930's Aerolux Christian Cross

1930's: An Aerolux Christian cross light bulb. These decorative gas discharge bulbs contained very low pressure neon or argon gas, along with an anode and cathode (in this case here, the cross). In a sense, they are the forerunners to the modern day LASER. I am relying on a 1960's FEDTRO rectified half-wave DC voltage converter, which gives a pitch black cross outlined with bright glowing plasma discharge. This single power modification could very well keep this cross glowing for over one hundred years into the future.
